Obituary of Kevin Karl Anderson

Kevin Karl Anderson, 53, 5111 28th St. S., Wisconsin Rapids, died unexpectedly

Memorial services will be at 12 p.m. on Thursday, at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Lay Minister Darren Dye will officiate. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 9.

Kevin was born in Wisconsin Rapids on Dec. 13, 1957, to Richard Anderson and Shelveadean (Moll) Anderson Smith. He married Susan Anderson on Aug. 9, 1980, in Wisconsin Rapids.

Kevin was employed by Synagro, utilizing his many talents as field repairman, equipment operator, mechanic and truck driver.

He served his country for 20 years in the Army National Guard and was involved in different competitions with the National Guard Sharp Shooter team.  

Kevin was a hard working man who enjoyed home improvement projects and building things in his free time at home. He also loved the outdoors and deer hunting. He liked spending time with family, and enjoyed an occasional short vacation.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; two daughters: Kara (Ryan) McLellan of Savage, Minnesota; and  Krista (Luke) Basler of Wisconsin Rapids; his parents, Richard and Sandy Anderson  and Shelveadean Smith of Wisconsin Rapids; siblings: Patti (Wally) Tank of Wisconsin Rapids and Dennis (Lisa) Anderson of Nekoosa; step-sisters: Kimberly Reshel, Wendy Cates and Tracy (Kevin) Haupt; nieces and nephews: Stephanie and Tyler Tank; Hallie and Morgan Anderson; Alica and Lucas Reshel; Nicholas and Ethan Cates; and Elizabeth and Erik Haupt; cousin, Vicki (John) Alft of Wisconsin Rapids; and in-laws: David Anderson and Shirley (Ben) Moore. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Herbert and Hildegard Anderson and Robert and Lucille Moll; uncle: Leland Anderson; and brother-in-law, Michael Cates.

Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home from 10 a.m to noon on Thursday.
