Seasonal closings

Summer is winding to an end as the City of Wisconsin Rapids Parks and Recreation Department begins to close down seasonal activities.
The Wisconsin Rapids Municipal Zoo will close for the season Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday with the petting zoo closed from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
The Wisconsin Rapids Mead Pool will close for the season Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. Hours for both the big pool and wading pool are Monday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Entry fee for the big pool is $2 per person and children under 6 are free. Parents are encouraged to swim with children under 8 and with other non-swimmers.
