Gerald “Swede” Falk age 81, of 1009 Lexus Ln, Wisconsin Rapids, died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Harbor House in Eau Claire, WI.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Nekoosa. Pastor Delbert Rossin will officiate. Entombment will be in Forest Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Feldner/Ritchay Funeral home in Nekoosa on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 PM and Thursday at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM.
The family will establish a memorial at a later date to the facilities where Swede lived the last year.
Swede was born July 10, 1930 in Port Edwards to Robert and Doris (Francis) Falk. Swede served in the US Air Force from 1949-1952. Swede married Bonnie Arneson on December 10, 1949 in Wisconsin Rapids. She died June 6, 1999. He married Lani Schauer on January 3, 2004 in Wisconsin Rapids. Swede was employed by Nekoosa Papers Inc. (Domtar) for over 30 years, retiring as a mill superintendent.
Swede was a longtime member of the Tri-Norse Ski Club. He coached the Junior National Ski Team and the Central U.S. Ski Association team. During the 1980 Olympics at Lake Placid, he was involved in the preparation of the ski hills. He coached youth baseball in Nekoosa for many years. Swede was a devout family man who enjoyed his role as husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie, his parents, and his inlaws, Ingvar and Ruth Arneson.
