Packer fan travel advisory

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is reminding motorists heading to Lambeau Field Aug. 19 for the Green Bay Packers/Arizona Cardinals football game that road construction season is in full swing on most major roads in Northeast Wisconsin. While most projects will stop work from five hours before kick-off until five hours after the game ends and open two lanes of traffic, drivers might still encounter road conditions in the work zones that could cause backups requiring patience and advanced planning.

Major roads most Packers fans will be traveling in northeast Wisconsin that are under construction include:

US 41

Winnebago County – a majority of 16 miles of highway, from WIS 26 to Breezewood Lane, has restricted shoulders and 11-foot travel lanes. Any minor incident could lead to long travel delays because of the width restrictions on northbound and southbound lanes.

Brown County – drivers will encounter 11-foot travel lanes and reduced shoulders in multiple locations along a 10-mile segment of highway.

WIS 29

Brown County – motorists traveling on WIS 29 will have to drive on 11-foot traffic lanes with reduced shoulders on five miles of highway between County FF to just east of US 41. These restrictions affect both eastbound and westbound traffic lanes. WIS 29 east of US 41 is closed at the intersection of Shawano Avenue and Taylor Street.

WIS 172

Brown County – WIS 172 is closed from the WIS 54/172 intersection to one mile west of the WIS 172/County GE intersection. Eastbound WIS 172 traffic will be detoured from the intersection on WIS 54 eastbound to County GE, southbound to WIS 172, and then eastbound.
