Obituary of Julie A. Dickinson

Julie A. Dickinson, 64, of 10211 52nd St. S., Wisconsin Rapids, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids, after a courageous eleven-year struggle against cancer.

Funeral Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Sahayanathan Nathan will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at Ritchay Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Julie A. Dickinson

Julie was born July 16, 1947, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Kenneth H. and Marie (Krause) Smith. She was a speech therapist at Oconto Falls Public Schools and the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools. She was later employed at the Ho-Chunk Casino in Nekoosa.

Julie loved all dogs, but the joy of her life were the English Cocker Spaniels that she trained and showed in competition. She was a member of the Wisconsin Rapids Kennel Club, the Irish Setter Club of America and the English Cocker Spaniel Club of Southeastern Wisconsin.

Julie is survived by sister, Mary (Reginald) Fanning and brother, Kenneth J. Smith, both of Wisconsin Rapids; nieces and nephews, Rebecca Fanning of Chicago, Sarah (Alexander Kadvan) Fanning of New York, David (Heidi Beach) Fanning of Chicago, Nathan (Alisha) Smith of Wisconsin Rapids, and Andrew Smith of Wisconsin Rapids; great nieces and nephews, Sydney Kadvan, Caleb Smith and Aaron Smith.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be designated to the American Cancer Society or Our Lady Queen of Heaven Parish.
