Riverview to offer gentle yoga classes

Riverview Health Promotion is offering gentle yoga classes beginning Oct. 13 in the lower level conference center in Riverview Medical Center.

The class, taught by registered yoga instructor Heidi Dix, is designed for people who enjoy yoga at a slower pace. The class will focus on warming up the body, connecting with breath, releasing muscle tension and increasing strength and flexibility.

Classes will meet every Thursday beginning Oct. 13 through Dec. 15 (with the exceptions of Thanksgiving Day and Dec. 8) and participants will have a choice between two sessions, either 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

The cost for the eight-session series is $40 – it is $32 for participants age 60 or over, Riverview employees and volunteers and Riverview Hospital Auxiliary members. Registration and payment by either cash or check will be accepted at the Riverview Medical Center front desk beginning Sept. 26 on a first-come, first-serve basis.

For more information about the class, please call Riverview Health Promotion at 715-421-7500.
