Obituary of Christian C. Larson

Christian C. Larson, age 78, of 6831 Wazeecha Ave., Wisconsin Rapids, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home, Port Edwards.

Funeral Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Christine Staack will officiate. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Ritchay Funeral Home on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11a.m.

Chris was born May 8, 1933, in Wisconsin Rapids to Clarence and Virginia (Newman) Larson. He married Alice Rokus in February of 1954. Chris worked at Consolidated Papers Inc for 42 years retiring in 1996 as a machine tender on No. 16 machine. He served as a trustee for five years in Local #187 union.

Chris served in the U.S. Army for two years as a cook at Fort Belvoir. He was a member of Kellner Moravian Church. Chris enjoyed his flower garden and always enjoyed sharing the flowers with others. He also enjoyed hearing his granddaughter Jennel sing, watching football, golf and car races and feeding the birds.

Chris is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice; son, Chris (Sandi) Larson of Bancroft; son, Larry Larson of Wisconsin Rapids; daughter, Cindy Larson of Wisconsin Rapids; granddaughters, Ashley and Jennel Larson and Tiffany and Christy Johnson; great grandson, Dante; brother, James Larson and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, half sister, grandparents and brother in law.
