Riverview to host night in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The staff of UW Cancer Center Riverview invites all breast cancer survivors and their guests to enjoy a celebratory night in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The free event will be held Tuesday, October 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre in the Centralia Center of the Rapids Mall.

The celebration, titled “It’s All About You!” will feature the comedy show “tinkled pink,” by Holly Henson. Henson, also known as the suburb’s funniest “escaped housewife,” brings a delicious levity to topics ranging from “too late” beauty tips to the latest headline news. Her rants on being married to a fanatic sportsman and aging like a “box of wine” are described as eye-wipingly funny.

The evening will begin with light hors d’oeuvres, refreshments and Suzuki music from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by Henson’s “tickled pink” comedy show from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Those planning to attend this free event are asked to register by Oct. 1 by calling Barb at UW Cancer Center Riverview at 715-422-7725.
