River Cities Evening Garden Club wishes to announce the recipient of the 2011 Beautification Award. Our club would like to recognize James Vruwink at 8th Street Auto for his contribution to the beautification of our city.

River Cities is a local garden club whose members have a passion for gardening. They have established and maintain the Pink Ribbon Garden at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin Rapids. They also plant and maintain the downtown planters and the Veterans Park garden.
Our club’s mission is to get others in our community involved. This was the purpose for which this award was established — to encourage our local community to make our city a more appealing place to shop and visit.
It’s our feeling that visitors and others get a perspective of our city by what they see and it is a reflection upon business owners to show that they care.
We congratulate James Vruwink at 8th Street Auto for his efforts. All who pass his business can appreciate his contribution of the beautiful planters to our city. We challenge other businesses in our city to participate. This award will be given out annually by our club.
