Sex offender to be released:

On Oct. 4, Douglas LeMay, 53, will be released from prison and will reside at 1150 16th Street North in Wisconsin Rapids.

In the past, LeMay has been convicted of two counts of first degree sexual assault of a child in 1981 and one count of first degree sexual assault of a child in 1989 with a current charge of exposing a child to harmful material.

LeMay is considered a level three sex offender and is required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life as well as required to wear GPS monitoring for the remainder of his lifetime. He will be under supervision by the Department of Corrections until October 2013 and must follow the Sex Offender Registry as well as comply with all GPS monitoring rules.

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department wants to maintain a safe community and reminds everyone that state law forbids the harassment of sexual offenders.

Offenses:

*1981 – LeMay sexually assaulted two six-year-old females as they walked home from school by forcing them to perform oral sex by knife point. The victims were unknown to the offender.

*1989 – LeMay sexually assaulted a nine-year-old female in her home. The victim’s father and LeMay were friends, and the father asked LeMay to leave the home because he was also leaving. After the victim’s father left, LeMay returned to the home and fondled the nine-year-old.

*2010 – LeMay exposed a child to harmful material by showing a 10-year-old boy and the boy’s 17-year-old sister pornography that included sexual intercourse and oral sex. The 17-year-old girl was victimized when LeMay made a sexually explicit comment of her friends and then hugged her and touched her butt. The fourth degree sexual assault charge on the 17-year-old girl was dismissed and read-in.
