Obituary of Arthur R. Gill

Arthur Richard Gill, age 84, 3211 Washington Street, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Wisconsin Rapids Care Center.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Paul Hoffman will officiate, military rites will be provided by VFW Post #2534 of Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will take place at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva, WI.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Ritchay Funeral Home on Monday from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 PM.

Arthur was born May 19, 1927 in Lake Geneva, WI to George and Clara (Niemz) Gill. On May 7, 1951 he married Geraldine Gerlach in Waukegan, Illinois. He was employed as a Lineman for Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, retiring in 1989 after 37 years. Arthur served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

Daughters: Catherine (David) Pomeroy of Germantown, WI
Mary (Thomas) Jarosch of Wis. Rapids, WI
Daughter-in-Law: Ginger Gill of Cudahy, WI

Grandchildren: Lori (Andrew) Uttech, Elizabeth Pomeroy, Carrie Pomeroy, Laura Gill, Christina Gill, Jacob Jarosch, Hannah Jarosch.

Great-Grandchildren: Catherine, Madeline and Olivia Uttech

One Sister: Elizabeth Rheingans of Tulsa, OK

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Gill, twin brother George and sister Jean Atkinson.
