Don Randecker, 89, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, one week before his 90th birthday, at the Renaissance in Wisconsin Rapids.
Don was born in Nekoosa on October 3, 1921 to John and Elsie (Marth) Randecker. He married Dorothy Jinsky on November 17, 1946 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Nekoosa.
Don was employed at Consolidated Papers Inc. for 43 years as a specialist in Research and Development, retiring in 1984.
He served on the Wood County Board from 1962 to 1976 and on the Bull’s Eye Credit Union Board of Directors from 1976 to 1986. He also served as an elder at Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years.
Don is survived by his wife, Dorothy, son Gary of Houston, TX, daughter Cheryl (Dan) Medin of Lakeville, MN, grandchildren: Amie (Alan) Harris, Dylan, Elsie and Wyatt Randecker; Tyler and Logan Medin; great-grandchildren: Olivia, Richard, Desmond and Mason Randecker and Marin Harris; and sister, Grace (Len) Gilman.
Services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the church.
The family extends their gratitude to Ministry Home Care Hospice and the wonderful staff at Renaissance.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to Ministry Home Care Hospice or Immanuel Lutheran Church or School.
