Obituary of Walter Edward Reynolds

Walter Edward Reynolds, 84, 2820 32nd Street South, Wisconsin Rapids, died September 28, 2011 at his home.
Services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend James Douglas will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.

Mr. Reynolds was born in Rib Lake on April 10, 1927 to the late Edward and Margaret (Bucher) Reynolds. He served in the US Army at the end of WWII before marrying his longtime sweetheart, Darlene Schwoch, on June 19, 1948 in Chelsea. They were married for 63 wonderful years.
Mr. Reynolds was a mill worker for Consolidated Papers Inc. for many years.
Walter was a faithful member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Walter was a down to earth man and good husband and father. He loved not only his own children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren but all children. Walter had a determined streak in him such that when he suffered a stroke at 37 years old that would have confined others to a bed for the rest of their lives, he worked out of it and returned to his job.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene of the Township of Grand Rapids; children, Kathy (Greg) Schneider of Hartland, Sandy (Gary) Michel of Rhinelander and Walter (Michelle) Reynolds of Neenah; grandchildren, G.J. (Maria) Schneider, Troy (Tammi) Michel, Patrick Michel, Cassandra Dorow and Jennifer (Steve) Xiong; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Edward (Roseanne) Reynolds of Shelton, WA; and many more extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amy Michel and sister, Delores Swayne.
Friends may call at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church from 11:00 AM on Monday, until the time of services.
The family would like to thank Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Walter’s caregivers and all the people in the neighborhood who were so kind and greeted him on his walks. A special thank you is extended to Dan and Linda for all that they’ve done.
