State Representative Amy Sue Vruwink, D-Milladore, was appointed to the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board.
“I’m honored by the opportunity to take an active role in this board, which plays a vital role in providing access to educational programming, informational news, and access to emergency alerts, all of which are very important to Central Wisconsin and the rest of the state,” Vruwink said.
The Wisconsin Educational Communications Board is a state agency that guarantees public radio, television programs, and services are made available throughout Wisconsin to students, parents, and administrators. The agency is responsible for ensuring that the programs and services mirror the educational and cultural needs of Wisconsin’s residents.
Among the services the board manages are Wisconsin Public Radio, Milwaukee Public Television, and Wisconsin Public Television. The board is also responsible for maintaining programs including the NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards and the Amber Alert Network.
