Louis Eugene Marzofka, 1231 Chestnut Street, Wisconsin Rapids, died Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Riverview Hospital.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, November 7 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Father John Steiner will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Louis was born in Wausau on May 9, 1930 to Louis and Viola (Pagels) Marzofka. He married Norberta (Brey) on November 17, 1956 in Milladore. She died on February 6, 2003.
Louis worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1992.
He served his country in the Navy from February, 1951 until January, 1955.
Louis loved the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, swimmer, hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his three sons: Mike (Marcie), Wisconsin Rapids; Patrick of Dubuque, Iowa and Jeff of Nekoosa; one granddaughter, Crysta, Wisconsin Rapids; special friend Kathy Luedtke; brother, Donald (Darlene) Marzofka of Rudolph; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norberta and his parents.
Friends may call at the Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday and from 10:00 until the time of services at the church on Monday. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
