Port Edwards class to raise money through pie sales

The Port Edwards High School junior class of 2013 will again be selling their homemade cranberry and cranberry-blueberry pies.

This year, delicious 8 ouce pies-in-a-jar will also be available.

This unique fundraiser consists of the students making the marketing material, selling, assembling, and distributing the pies. Many fundraisers today consist of students just filling out an order form and then handing out a prepackaged product.

“This fundraiser was a huge success last year. It helped our class come together and also benefited us financially. We liked selling a product that we knew was of good quality because we were the ones making it,” said Jenifer Smith, class president.

All of the profit will go directly to the class fund, which will help the class make money to offset expenses for prom, a senior class trip and a school gift. Each deep-dish pie sells for $15 and contains 2 pounds of real fruit. Each ready-to-eat pie-in-a-jar sells for just $5.

All pies will be available for delivery on Nov. 21. If interested in ordering, contact Jenifer Smith at 715-887-9000 ext. 201 or martije@pesd.org.
