MSTC to hold special needs trust and will workshop Nov. 11

Mid-State Technical College will be holding a “Special Needs Trust and Will Workshop” on Nov. 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the auditorium.

Hosted by Gettin’ Down Central Wisconsin, the program will cover the benefits of special needs trusts, types of trusts available, how the planning process works, how to select a trustee and administration issues in special needs trusts.

A special needs trust, also called a supplemental needs trust, allows an appointed trustee to hold property for the benefit of a disabled child during a person’s life or as part of one’s estate plan.

The program will have three presenters including Michael Lauterbach, attorney with Nash Law Group; Mary Anne Getzin, vice president and trust officer with WoodTrust Bank and Blanche Dove, personal trust officer with WoodTrust Bank.

The program will be an informal discussion with a questions and answers during the program as well a question and answer session at the end of the program.

The public is welcome and the program is free of charge.
