Veterans Day events

Nekoosa

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5960 will be holding a variety of events for Veterans Day this year.

*Nov. 10 – 9:30 a.m. – Veteran recognition ceremony at Alexander Middle School (public welcome)

*Nov. 10 – 11 a.m. – Veteran recognition ceremony at Nekoosa High School (public welcome)

*Nov. 11 – 9 a.m. – Veterans Day Pancake Breakfast at the Nekoosa Community Center (RSVP required – open to veterans only)

The Ho-Chunk Nation in collaboration with American Legion Post 442 will also be holding an event in honor of veterans.

*Nov. 11 – 11 a.m. – Veteran recognition ceremony at Rainbow Casino with a lunch following (public welcome – lunch free for vets of American Legion Post 442)

Port Edwards

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5960 will be holding an event in Port Edwards for Veterans Day this year.

*Nov. 11 – 2:30 p.m. – Veteran recognition ceremony at Edgewater Nursing Home (public welcome)

Rome

The Town of Rome will be holding an event for Veterans Day this year.

*Nov. 11 – 11:11 a.m. – Ceremony at Spring Branch Cemetery with a turkey dinner by Stagecoach Cafe at the Rome Town Hall. A patriotic performance by the Home Town Rome Players will follow the lunch. (RSVP for lunch required – lunch is free for veteran and spouse – general public welcome for $10 per lunch)

Rudolph

The American Legion Post 485 will be holding an event for Veterans Day this year.

*Nov. 11 – 2 p.m. – Veterans Day program at the Rudolph Elementary School (open to veterans only)

Wisconsin Rapids

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2534 as well as the Wood County Veterans Memorial Committee and the Allied Veterans Council will be holding a variety of events for Veterans Day this year.

*Nov. 10 – 9:15 a.m. – Veterans Day program at East Junior High School (open to veterans only)

*Nov. 11 – 11 a.m. – Veteran recognition ceremony at Veterans Park (public welcome)

*Nov. 11 – 1 p.m. – Memorial ceremony at Wood County Veterans Memorial (public welcome)

*Nov. 11 – 5 p.m. – All-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner at VFW Post 2534 (public welcome – $7 per dinner)
