Kevin Lang, 49, Marshfield pled guilty to two counts of second degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim, no contest to one count of the same charge and was sentenced to five years in the Wisconsin State Prison System with 10 years extended supervision on each count to be served concurrently and was deemed not eligible for the Challenge Incarceration Program and not eligible for Earned Early Release Program. Lang was also fined $1,112, ordered to maintain absolute sobriety, attend a sex-offender program and after care, provide a DNA sample, go to school as required and hold full-time employment although he cannot hold any position without supervision. One charge of second degree sexual assault was dismissed but read in.
According to the criminal complaint, Marshfield Police Department Detective Rick Gramza investigated complaints of sexual contact by Dr. Kevin Lang to patients who had undergone medical procedures where they had been placed under anesthesia. The complaint shows four patients accusing Lang of having sexual contact with them while under the influence of drugs between 2005 and 2009.
Bradly Rosenthal, 29, Wisconsin Rapids pled not guilty to fourth offense drunk driving within five years, operating with prohibited alcohol content within five years, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegally obtaining prescription drugs. If convicted on all four charges, Rosenthal faces up to 12 years and six months imprisonment and fined up to $21,000. He will appear for his pre-trial conference on Dec. 29.
Matthew Wenta, 17, Wisconsin Rapids pled no contest to possession of non-narcotics and was fined $363.25. A count of possession of drug paraphernalia and a count of illegally obtaining a prescription was dismissed. A count of possession of marijuana was amended to the possession of a non-narcotic substance charge. Wenta is eligible for a conditional discharge if he pays the fine within 60 days.
