Element Mobile donates turkeys to food banks

Element Mobile has continued its tradition again this year of donating 660 turkeys to local food pantries and shelters to help families in need during the holiday season.

With the help of the Opportunity Development Center, Element Mobile employees spent Monday, Nov. 14 distributing turkeys to local organizations including: Family Crisis Center and Cap Services in Wisconsin Rapids, Waupaca Food Pantry, Family Crisis Center and Crisis Assistance (Operation Bootstrap) in Stevens Point, and St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and Youth Net in Marshfield.

Randy Neve, director at Marshfield’s Youth Net organization, said the donation of 100 turkeys to the program shows that Element Mobile cares about the communities they serve.

“This donation benefits the whole community,” said Neve. “Doing good is good business; thank you Element Mobile.”

This is the second year Element Mobile has donated turkeys to community organizations.  As a locally owned business, strengthening ties to the community by being involved and giving back is very important to Element Mobile.

Roseanne DeBot, director of Operation Bootstrap in Stevens Point, said Element Mobile’s turkey donation was invaluable to her organization’s charitable efforts this Thanksgiving.

“At Operation Bootstrap we have around 150 families that use our facilities in a week. We have been giving out turkeys every day and people are very excited. It has been fun for the volunteers too,” she said. “Element Mobile was a great help otherwise we would not have had many turkeys to give out this year.”

This year Element Mobile increased their donations to 660 turkeys, 100 more than last year. They also expanded their geographic reach to include Waupaca.
