Popcorn sales a huge success

Ahdawagam District of Samoset Council, serving South Wood and Adams Counties sold more than eight tons of popcorn this year. That is more than 16,000 pounds of popcorn.

This is yet another record of popcorn sales in Ahdawagam’s history.

Thank you to all who decided to support Scouting and purchase popcorn.  More than 70 percent of the total sales from the popcorn go directly to support Scouting. Your support is what keeps this program alive in reaching out to the young boys in our community.

A special thank you goes out to all 500-plus boys who sold popcorn this year in the Ahdawagam District. All boys who reached their Knightly Goal of selling $325 in popcorn will become Popcorn Knights and will be knighted into King Smiley’s (the council mascot’s) royal kingdom. They will also be given the distinguished Popcorn Knight patch.  Congratulations to the 193 boys of the Ahdawagam District who have reached this goal and will soon be royal Popcorn Knights.

Special congratulations go out to the following boys who sold more than $1,000 worth in popcorn:  J.J. Cullen – Pack 123; Trentyn Wanta – Pack 171; Dakota Borths and River Laack – Pack 174; Alex Boyd, Aaron Krueger, and Waylon Shearer – Pack 178; John Nigon – Troop 114; Mitchell Dillon – Troop 118; A.J. Danischefsky – Troop 123; Roarke Steiner, Fernando Robelledo, and Curtis Krueger – Troop 187.  

Special congratulations go out to the following boys who sold more than $2,500 worth in popcorn:  Robert Runyon, Jr. – Pack 171 and Devyn Koch – Troop 187.

A special congratulations also goes out to the top seller of the district, Dylan Nelsen of Troop 118.  Dylan sold $4,445 worth in popcorn, a new district record. Great job Dylan.

Special thanks go to our District Popcorn Kernels: Deb and Josh Anderson, to all of our unit popcorn kernels, and to Mike Klement and his NewPage crew at NewPage Support Services for all of their hard work in making this a successful popcorn season.

After a month of hard work for all the boys in their popcorn sales, it is now time for delivery, so expect the popcorn you ordered to come your way very soon.
