Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church is offering a unique way to celebrate the Christmas season, with their first annual Nativity Festival.
The free festival, which will be held on Sunday, December 11, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., was
spearheaded by church secretary Anne Tietsort, who said she wanted to add something different for the church’s Advent and Christmas celebrations.
“I heard of this first where my sister lives in Michigan,” Tietsort said in the press release. “Since I enjoy nativities myself, and the variety I have seen other places, it seemed like something that would be interesting to do here. We want it to become an annual event, and what happens the first year determines how we go about it another year.”
The Nativity Festival will have on display crèches, or Nativity displays, ornaments, figurines, wall hangings, crafted items, etc. belonging to parishioners, along with a small card explaining the story behind each one.
Join as we celebrate the coming of our Lord to earth as a baby this Christmas season. St.
