Riverview Health Promotion is offering yoga classes beginning Jan. 3. The classes will be held in Riverview Medical Center’s lower level conference center and will be led by Heidi Dix, registered yoga instructor through YogaFit. Registration and payment, cash or check, will be accepted at the Riverview Medical Center front desk on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 8 a.m. on Dec. 15.
Gentle Flow Yoga can make you stronger and more flexible, help your body heal, improve your sleep, and help you relax. Movements are safe, gentle and flowing. Classes involve time on the floor, on hands and knees, and standing.
Gentle Flow Yoga will meet Tuesdays, Jan. 3 through Feb. 21 (except Jan. 31) from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or Thursdays, Jan. 5 through Feb. 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
The cost of the seven-session Tuesday course is $35 ($28 for those 60 and over, Riverview employees and volunteers, and Riverview Auxiliary members). The cost of either eight-session Thursday course is $40 ($32 for those 60 and over, Riverview employees and volunteers, and Riverview Auxiliary members).
Chair Yoga for Strength and Balance can make you stronger, help you breathe better, increase your range of motion, and improve your balance without getting on the floor. Movements are adapted to the ability of the participant. Classes include movements in the chair and standing with the support of the chair.
Chair Yoga for Strength and Balance will meet Tuesdays, Jan. 3 through Feb. 21 (except Jan. 31) from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The cost of the seven-session course is $35 ($28 for those 60 and over, Riverview employees and volunteers, and Riverview Auxiliary members).
