Obituary of Frederick J. Klingforth

Frederick John Klingforth, age 69 of 432 Akron Drive, Bancroft, Wisconsin died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at his home.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, The Rev. John Grohs will officiate, burial will take place in Restlawn Memorial Park.   The family will greet relatives and friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM.  Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post #9 of Wisconsin Rapids.

Fred was born October 3, 1942 in Wisconsin Rapids to the late Frederick and Mathilda (Kraemer) Klingforth.  He was baptised and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  Fred married Patricia (Langer), December 1989 in Friendship, Wisconsin.  He was employed as an over the road semi driver working for various companies, retiring in 1998.

He enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer Football games, hunting, camping, boating and enjoyed working in his garage on tractors and 4 X 4′s.  Fred was a boy scout den leader for several years.

Fred served our country in the U.S. Army while stationed in Seoul Korea.  He was a member of the Signal Corp as an artillery spotter and communications relay technician.  He also competed in Army marksman competitions.

He is survived by:

              Children:     Carol Klingforth of Janesville, Wisconsin

                                   Dave (Kathy) Klingforth of Wisconsin Rapids, WI

                                   Katina (Roger) Ziebell of Necedah, WI

                                   Mike (Klingforth) Grignano of Juneau, WI

   Step – Children:      Donna Lester of California

                                   Larry Barr of Bancroft, Wisconsin

Grandchildren:   Amanda, Fred, Laura, Ben, Chelsea, Tylor, Angela, Brandon, Ashton, Aubriahna.

Brother – Karl (Margaret) Klingforth of Bancroft, Wisconsin

He was preceded in death by his parents.
