A 31-year-old man was pronounced dead Dec. 19 after a weekend shooting that police are investigating, said Dave Lewandowski, Grand Rapids police chief.
Nick Hoffmann died from injuries after he was shot in the neck with a 9mm handgun in the early morning hours Dec. 18. Tyler Enkro, 21, was arrested and is in Wood County Jail on charges of recklessly endangering safety, he said.
The information was confirmed by the hospital.
The two were friends, Lewandowski said.
Grand Rapids police responded to the shooting at 711 22nd St. N. at 2:49 a.m. Hoffmann was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, where he was later pronounced dead.
The incident is under investigation by Grand Rapids Police Department and the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.
