Obituary of Thomas V. Smith

Thomas V. Smith age 65 of 3540 Hwy. 54 West, Nekoosa, died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Riverview Medical Center in Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Burial will be in the Village of Port Edwards Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa and on Wednesday at the church from 10-11 AM. A parish prayer service will be held at 6 PM. Tuesday at the funeral home. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home of Nekoosa is assisting the family.
Tom was born December 4, 1946 in Wisconsin Rapids to Bernard and Mary (Troyanowski) Smith. Tom graduated from U.W. Stevens Point where he was a math and physics major and chemistry minor. He was employed at Domtar for over 40 years and was a Finishing Room Supervisor at both the Nekoosa and Port Edwards mills.
Tom’s interests included hunting, farming and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved his animals and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events.

He is survived by: 2 children: Cary (Vicki Keen) Smith of Nekoosa
Traci O’Shasky of Wisconsin Rapids
6 grandchildren: Dylan, Alycia, Cassidy, Bryce, Mitchel and Tori
1 sister: Dela Agne of Wisconsin Rapids
His former wife and significant other: Marlene A. Smith of Wis. Rapids
and her son Grant Berry.
Former wife: Lorraine Cook of Wisconsin Rapids
His nephew and Godson: Eric Enerson of Oshkosh
He was preceded in death by his parents.
