Man shot early in the morning; female taken into custody

In the early morning hours of Jan. 2, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the 900 block of Baker Street where a man was shot inside of a residence.

At 2 a.m., the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department arrived at the residence and found a man and a woman in the house and the man had been shot. Upon investigation, the man was not hit by any rounds, according to a press release from Lt. Joel Flewellen.

The house was secured and the woman was taken into custody. Police believe that it was an isolated occurrence between the two involved and continue to investigate the incident.
