Grand Rapids
At 9:44 a.m. on Jan. 3, the Grand Rapids Fire Department, Grand Rapids Police Department and Wood County Search and Rescue were called to the 2400 block of 48th Street South in Grand Rapids where they continued the search of a missing woman. Rescuers found the deceased body of the woman in Lake Wazeecha a little over an hour later. Authorities think it was an accidental drowning.
At 5:25 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Grand Rapids Police Department was called to the 6100 block of Birch Avenue where a woman reported theft of items from her vehicle.
At 6:34 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Grand Rapids Police Department was called to the 7400 block of South Park Road where a man reported having a remote control car stolen out of his garage.
Nekoosa
At 2:03 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Nekoosa Police Department was called to the Nekoosa Port Edwards State Bank where a woman reported a counterfeit bill.
At 2:13 a.m. on Jan. 4, the Nekoosa Police Department was called to the 900 block of West Third Street where a physical fight in progress between two women was reported. Police arrested one of the women for battery.
Wisconsin Rapids
At 7:49 a.m. on Jan. 3, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the 300 block of Eighth Street South where a minor traffic accident occurred.
At 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 3, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the 1000 block of Saratoga Street where a two vehicle accident was reported. No injuries were reported.
At 8:52 a.m. on Jan. 3, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the intersection of Highway W and Highway 54 where a traffic accident was reported.
At 11:08 a.m. on Jan. 3, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the 2200 block of Eighth Street South where a minor traffic accident was reported.
At 12:26 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the 900 block of Huntington Avenue where a two vehicle accident occurred.
At 1:35 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to a tavern on the 1400 block of First Street North where a man slid into the entrance way with his vehicle as to avoid hitting a vehicle that quickly applied brakes ahead of him.
At 4:17 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the 500 block of West Grand Avenue where a woman reported rear-ending another vehicle when pulling into a parking lot. A citation was issued.
At 5:18 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the 1200 block of Baker Street where a woman reported receiving harassing phone calls from her brother.
At 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the 600 block of 12th Street South where a woman reported receiving harassment from her ex-boyfriend.
At 3:39 a.m. on Jan. 4, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the 200 block of 21st Avenue South where a woman reported a physical domestic trouble between her and a man and a knife and a box cutter were on the table but not used. When police arrived, the woman was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Wood County Sheriff’s Department
At 2:24 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department was called to the 2400 block of Townline Road in Saratoga where a woman reported having her brother push and threaten her.
At 3:40 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department was called to the 1300 block of Highland Avenue in Saratoga where a man reported a pine tree was cut down from his yard.
At 3:50 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department was called to the 8700 block of 52nd Street South in Saratoga where a woman reported receiving phone calls from a Florida number. When the woman would answer, no one would respond and when she would call the number back, a message will say it was a non-working number. The woman had received 18 calls within a day and a half. The incident is under investigation.
At 11:18 p.m. on Jan. 3, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department was called to the 5800 block of Highway 34 in Rudolph where a man reported another man was out of control. When police arrived, they used the taser and took the out of control man into custody.
At 1:23 a.m. on Jan. 4, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department was called to the intersection of Church Avenue and Highway 73 South in Saratoga where an accident occurred.
At 5:58 a.m. on Jan. 4, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department was called by a woman from the 3000 block of Plover Road in Biron regarding a sexual offense. The woman reported she would come down to the sheriff’s office to speak to a deputy in regards to unwanted sexual contact that occurred the night before.
