Persuasions to perform at McMillan

The legendary a cappella group the Persuasions will present a concert at the McMillan Library in Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday, January 12th, at 7:00 p.m.  Since the 1960s the Persuasions have been singing Brooklyn-street-corner-style harmonies in concert halls and night clubs throughout the world.  This free concert is made possible through a grant from the Mead Witter Foundation, Inc.   No tickets are required.

Over the years the group has recorded a wide range of both secular and religious music.  They have performed on stage, on record, and on disc with such diverse artists as Stevie Wonder, Bette Midler, Joni Mitchell, Liza Minelli, Van Morrison, Lou Reed, Gladys Knight, Patti La Belle, Little Richard, Nancy Wilson, the Neville Brothers, B.B. King, and Paul Simon.

Library director Ron McCabe notes that, “This will be a great concert.  Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear the undisputed heavyweight champions of a cappella!”
