Obituary of Marie T. Kreeger

Marie T. Kreeger of Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday January 11, 2012, at House of the Dove in Marshfield, in care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Marie was born April 19, 1915 in Waverly, Minnesota to Leo and Theresa (Davitt) Wheeler. She married Walter Kreeger on December 18, 1933 in Omaha, Nebraska. Together they farmed in the Clifton, Wisconsin area for many years and raised five children. After relocating to the Wisconsin Rapids area they started caring for disabled veterans and elderly in their home. In 1990 they started the “Kreeger Home” on Pepper Avenue in Wisconsin Rapids. In her later years, Marie enjoyed her time at the Senior Center especially playing cards.

Marie is survived by two daughters, Rita Scott, Babcock, Valerie, (Leo) Delaney, Biron, one daughter-in-law, Dolly Kreeger, Florida, two sons, Ronald (Maria) Kreeger, North Carolina, Raymond Kreeger, Arpin, nineteen grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Walter, one son-in-law, Tom Scott, three sisters and two brothers.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids, at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2012. Father Tim Welles will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday January 13, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids and again from 10 A.M. Saturday at the church until the time of service.
Higgins Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, is assisting the family.
