This policy explains how we collect information and how we intend to use it. This only applies to information collected at www.voiceofwr.com, not the VOICE of Wisconsin Rapids newspaper or by other means.

Affiliated sites and advertisements
The VOICE expects its website affiliations and advertisers to respect the privacy of its users. Some third parties, however, have different measures of privacy and varying degrees of policies.

Use of personal information
Personally identifiable information my be accessed by the user who entered it, by the VOICE staff and certain third parties, for instance computer professionals working on our site. All payment and credit card information is stored on PayPal.com’s site and we pull in purchase and expiration dates for our records. We also endeavor to keep your personal information inaccessible to other users or advertisers of the VOICE website. The only exception is the information you choose to publicly display and your user name. While no website is completely secure, we make reasonable efforts to secure your information so that it can only be accessible by logging in to your account.
We may also disclose personally identifiable information to comply with a subpoena or other legal proceeding, to comply with applicable law, to prevent or investigation illegal activities.

Use of aggregated information
Like most websites, the VOICE collects browsing information automatically and logs the information, such as your IP address, length of time on site, referring site, etc.
Advertisers typically ask information about our site’s viewers and members. We typically share information such as how many people viewed a certain story or how many subscribers live in a certain area code. All this information is anonymous and does not include personally identifiable information.

Children’s privacy

Your email, address or other personal information
The VOICE does not rent, sell, barter or give away its user or members lists, including email addresses, addresses or phone numbers, to any third party for purpose of solicitation, unless the user has specifically given consent.
All registered members to the VOICE website will receive periodic updates and messages from the VOICE related to their membership account, or features or services provided by the VOICE.
From time to time, the VOICE may conduct a contest with an advertiser that results in the people who register for the contest allow the release of email for solicitations. If you do not want to continue receiving information from a contest registration, unsubscribing can be done within the email itself or by contacting the VOICE at 715-712-1161 or an email to unsubscribe@voiceofwisconsinrapids.com.
